New Delhi: Netflix’s documentary ‘Bad Boy Billionaires’ failed to get any relief from the Supreme Court and was asked to go to Bihar High Court instead.
“We are not granting relief. You should not have come here,” Chief Justice SA Bobde said.
The documentary “explores the greed, fraud and corruption that built up — and ultimately brought down — India’s most infamous tycoons”. The trailer showcases Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi and other tycoons accused in various cases.
Scheduled to air on Wednesday, it was halted after Sahara’s Subrata Roy went to a Bihar lower court, alleging it was harming his reputation. The court granted an interim stay.
Diamond merchant Mehul Choksi had also approached the Delhi High Court with a similar plea which was rejected. Choksi is wanted in India in connection with the PNB scam.
