Puri: Concerned over the recent incidents of selfies clicked inside
Puri Jagannath temple premises doing rounds on social media, the Shree
Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Tuesday decided to impose
restriction on the use of smartphones in the temple.
The restriction will be applicable for everyone, be it minister,
political leader, bureaucrat or any other senior official, SJTA
sources said.
Similar restriction was imposed only for servitors during a meeting of
Chhatisha Niyog held earlier on September 20. The move came after a
selfie taken by a youth inside the 12th century shrine went viral on
social media.
