No ‘Toxic’ Clash: ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Set For Massive Solo Run at Box Office

No ‘Toxic’ Clash: ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Set For Massive Solo Run at Box Office

Mumbai: Just two weeks ahead of its much-hyped box office clash with ‘Dhurandhar 2’, the makers of ‘Toxic’ announced on Wednesday that the film’s release has been postponed to June.

Actor Yash, who headlines ‘Toxic’, cited “uncertainty in the Middle East” as the reason behind the decision.

Sharing an official statement, he said, “After years of dedicated labour, we were excited to share our film with you all on the 19th of March. However, the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that impacts our goal to reach and connect with the widest possible audience.” He added that the film will now hit theatres on June 4.

The delay has effectively cleared the path for Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’, granting it a solo release on March 19.

Trade analysts believe the absence of a major competitor could significantly boost the box-office numbers for Aditya Dhar’s spy-thriller, with early estimates suggesting it may cross the Rs 200 crore mark in India alone.

Apart from Ranveer Singh, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ also features R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, ‘Toxic’ stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.
