Noida: A man in UP’s Noida, Deepak Tenguriya, who recently booked an Uber auto for Rs 62, got a hefty bill of Rs 7.66 crore on his app after he reached the destination.
Stunned at the bill, Deepak’s friend, Ashish Mishra, shared a video on social media platform X where they were heard discussing the huge bill.
“Early in the morning @Uber_India made @TenguriyaDeepak so rich that he is thinking of taking the Uber franchise next. The good thing is that the trip has not been cancelled yet. Become a crorepati loanee instantly by booking an auto for Rs 62,” he wrote in Hindi.
The friends can be heard joking. One friend says, “I had never counted these many zeros before in one go.” The other responds, “Even if you had booked Chandrayaan, it would not have cost this much.”
Soon after the post went viral, the official X page of Uber India Customer Support apologised and said that they were looking into the matter.
“Hey, sorry to hear about the trouble. Please allow us sometime while we are looking into this issue for you. We will get back to you with an update,” wrote Uber India Support.
