New Delhi: A non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued against double-Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar on Saturday.
A Delhi court also issued warrants against nine others, in connection with the murder of 23-year-old former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Rana.
Five days ago, Delhi Police had issued a look-out circular (LoC) against Sushil.
“After registering an FIR, we served notice to him, but he switched off his phone and has been untraceable since. We also conducted raids at his friends’ residences and now have decided to announce a reward for information leading to his arrest and a file has been placed before senior officers,” The Indian Express quoted a police source as saying.
Sagar Rana died after a violent brawl on May 4 at Chhatrasal Stadium’s parking area, while others were injured.
Police recorded statements of the victims, who all named Sushil.
An FIR of murder, abduction and criminal conspiracy was registered against the champion wrestler.
