Kochi: A Kerala court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant (NBW) against Baba Ramdev and his close aide Acharya Balakrishna after they failed to appear in the court on February 1 in connection with the criminal case filed against them for allegedly publishing misleading medical advertisements.
The judicial first-class magistrate court in Palakkad had earlier issued bailable warrants against the duo. But as they failed to appear, the court issued an NBW to secure their presence on February 15.
The drugs inspector had filed the case against Divya Pharmacy, an affiliate of Patanjali Ayurved, under provisions of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.
Divya Pharmacy is named as the first accused, Acharya Balakrishna second accused, and Baba Ramdev as the third accused.
Ramdev is the co-founder of the pharmacy and Balakrishna the managing director.
