Seoul: A North Korea defector, who has been elected as a people’s representative in South Korea, said on Friday he was “99 per cent” sure that Kim Jong Un died after undergoing surgery last month, according to Yonhap News Agency.
There has been widespread speculation over the health condition of North Korea’s supreme leader, including unconfirmed reports that Kim Jong’s is in grave condition. There was also a report last week which claimed that he was no more.
Kim Jong has not appeared in public for nearly three weeks.
“I’ve wondered how long he could have endured after cardiovascular surgery. I’ve been informed that Kim died last weekend,” Ji Seong-ho told the Korean news agency.
“It is not 100 per cent certain, but I can say the possibility is 99 per cent. North Korea is believed to be grappling with a complicated succession issue,” he added.
