Bhubaneswar: A Bhubaneswar-bound flight from New Delhi had to be diverted to Kolkata on Wednesday morning due to inclement weather conditions.
According to sources, 785 New-Delhi-Bhubaneswar Vistara flight could not land at the Biju Patnaik International Airport as Nor’wester rain accompanied by thunderstorm lashed the city this morning. The flight, which had left New Delhi at 7 am, was to reach Bhubaneswar at 9.05 am.
The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here has also issued Nor’wester (Kalabaisakhi) warning for 15 districts – Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda.
It had forecast wind speed reaching up to 50 to 60 kmph at these places and advised people to stay alert from 7 am to 11.30 am.
