Nuapada: A woman and her daughter were killed after a tree fell on their house following Nor’wester-triggered rain at Bhandarpuri village in Nuapad district on Friday night.
The deceased persons have been identified as Ganeshi Tandi and her daughter Tulsi.
Ganeshi’s husband Punitram Tandi also sustained injuries in the incident.
According to sources, the mishap took place while the family was sleeping. The house collapsed after the tree fell on it and the mother-daughter duo died on the spot.
On being informed, the fire department personnel reached the spot and rescued Punitram. He has been admitted to the district headquarters hospital, the sources added.
