Norwester Likely To Bring Relief From Heatwave In Odisha On May 1-2

Bhubaneswar: A norwester is likely to bring some respite from the severe heatwave conditions in Odisha in the next few days, the Meteorological Centre here forecast on Thursday.

The Norwester will bring temperatures down by 2 degrees Celsius around May 1-2, the Met centre said.

Forecast for the next five days:

April 29 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning: Heatwave conditions very likely to prevail over Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh and Balangir districts.

Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms very likely over Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts.

April 29 (8.30 am) to April 30 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning: Heatwave conditions very likely to prevail over Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh and Balangir districts.

Light rain/thunderstorms very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Dhenkanal districts.

April 30 (8.30 am) to May 1 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning: Heatwave conditions very likely to prevail over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Balangir and Boudh districts.

Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara districts.

May 1 (8.30 am) to May 2 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning: Thunderstorms with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput districts.

Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms very likely to occur at one or two places over coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Sundargarh districts.

May 2 (8.30 am) to May 3 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning: Thunderstorms with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore districts.

Light to moderate rain/thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore districts.
