Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Nor’western warning for some parts of north and south Odisha districts in the next 24 hours.
A release by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, on Friday said that a trough line formed from Chhattisgarh to the north interior Karnataka across Vidarbha and Marathwada has become less marked. Besides, a cyclonic circulation lies over west Assam and the neighbourhood and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level while another trough line runs from this cyclonic circulation to north-east of Jharkhand across West Bengal and extends up to 0.9 km above mean sea level.
Under its influence, light to moderate rainfall or thundershower is likely to occur at a few places in north Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of south Odisha. Besides, thunderstorm with gusty wind and lightning are likely to occur at one or two places in north Odisha and Nayagarh, Khurda and Kandhamal districts in the southern districts during this period.
Meanwhile, in a fresh bulletin, the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, has issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for 10 districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Cuttack and advised the people remain alert till 4 pm.
