New Delhi: Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation as the president of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee on Tuesday was reason enough for his party rival and former chief minister Amarinder Singh to take a dig at him.

Moment after Sidhu resigned, Amarinder tweeted to say that he was “not a stable man”.
“I told you so…he is not a stable man and not fit for the border state of Punjab,” the former CM tweeted.
Earlier on Tuesday, Sidhu wrote a short cryptic message to interim Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, indicating that all is not well in the party’s Punjab unit.
“The collapse of a man’s character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab’s future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab,” Sidhu wrote.
“Therefore, I hereby resign as the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Will continue to serve the Congress,” he added.
