Rourkela: Former BJP leader and Rourkela MLA Dilip Ray on Wednesday said that he is yet to take a decision on joining any other party.
“I have come to Rourkela today for the first time after resigning from the BJP. I am yet to decide on which party I will join. After consulting the people of my constituency, I will take a decision so that it will be beneficial to the people of Rourkela and the overall development of this city,” Ray told mediapersons here.
Asked whether he had any talk with his colleague Bijoy Mohapatra about the formation of a new party, he said there has been no such discussion.
Ray had left for the United States after quitting the BJP on November 30 last year and submitting his resignation letter to the Speaker Pradip Amat at his State Assembly chamber.
While the Rourkela MLA cited no reason for his decision to quit the BJP, sources said he was peeved at the dilly-dallying attitude of the central and the state party leadership in not fulfilling his two long-standing demands— the second bridge over the Brahmani river and upgrading Ispat General Hospital (IGH) into a super speciality hospital in Rourkela.
