Lucknow: Imagine a man trying to kill his wife because she confided in him that she had been raped by his brother.
Not only that, the man even said: “You are no longer my wife… you are my sister-in-law now.”
A distressing video of the incident, which took place at UP’s Bulandshahr showed the man sitting atop his wife’s chest and trying to strangle her.
Taking perversion to an unthinkable level, the man who allegedly raped her shot the video, the victim claimed.
Having survived the heinous attack, the woman claimed that her brother-in-law raped her on April 2 when her husband was away.
On his return, she shared her ordeal, only to receive the shocking response.
The day after, the survivor’s husband and brother-in-law entered her room, and the former attempted to strangle her with her dupatta while his brother recorded the incident on his mobile phone, she said in a complaint and shared shared the video on social media.
Police took note of the incident and lodged a case under sections 376 (rape), 307 (attempt to murder) and 328 of IPC against the accused duo at Khatauli Kotwali police station.
Superintendent of Police Satyanarayan Prajapati said that efforts are underway to arrest both the accused and assured that legal action will be taken against them soon.
