Balasore: Lawyer and Central government notary Prabir Kumar Das sustained grievous injuries after allegedly being attacked by two persons at his village in Remuna area of Odisha’s Balasore district.
As per sources, the incident reportedly took place when Das was overseeing a cleaning operation on his land near Mukhara village under the jurisdiction of Remuna police station in the district on Sunday.
When the cleaning work was in progress, two persons, identified as Jayachandra Behera alias Banagra and his son Sanjay Behera alias Banthu of Jenabarai, allegedly mounted an attack on Das, causing him serious injuries.
It was alleged that the father-son duo had got engaged in similar assaults in the area in the past too.
Das, who stays in Bhubaneswar, was on a visit to his village when he was attacked. He is currently undergoing treatment following the incident.
Tension prevailed in the area following the incident with locals demanding prompt action by the police against the accused.
