Cuttack: Eminent theatre personality and director and organiser of Theatre Olympiad Kartik Chandra Rath passed away on Monday following prolonged illness. He was 70.
He had been organising the international theatre festival in Cuttack since 1993. A native of Berhampur and a professor by profession, he has over 100 plays to his credit.
He has been bestowed with several prestigious honours, including ‘Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi Award’, ‘Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Award’, ‘Odisha Sahitya Akademi Puraskar’ and ‘Utkala Sahitya Samaj’ award.
