Cuttack: The District Election Officer of Cuttack on Tuesday served notice on BJD leader and sitting MLA of Barabati-Cuttack Debasis Samantray for allegedly violating the model code of conduct of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The DEO, in the notice, has said that Samantray in gross violation of the model code of conduct had put up a Facebook post on April 22, which intended to influence the voters.
The sitting MLA has been asked to furnish a reply within 48 hours, failing which appropriate action would be initiated against him, the DEO added.
