Notorious Criminal Injured In Police Encounter At Choudwar

Cuttack: A notorious criminal was injured in an exchange of fire with a team of Commissionerate Police at Choudwar area in Cuttack on Thursday.

The criminal identified was Soumya Ranjan Sahu. He sustained bullet injuries on his right leg and was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital here.
A pistol, one motorcycle and three round bullets were seized from him.
The encounter took place after police raided the area after receiving information regarding Soumya’s presence in the area. Sensing trouble, the criminal opened fire at the cops. Following which the policemen too retaliated back in which Sahu got injured.
There are more than 12 criminal cases pending against the criminal at different police stations, police sources said.
