Notorious Criminal Nabbed After Police Encounter In Cuttack

The accused has been identified as Anil Behera alias Chiku.

Acting on a tip-off regarding Chiku’s presence near Madhupatna, a team of the special squad of Commissionerate Police raided the area. Seeing the cops, Chiku opened fire on them in a bid to escape from the spot.

However, police retaliated back in which he sustained bullet injury on his leg.

The criminal was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

Chiku is allegedly involved in a number of criminal cases, including a recent dacoity incident where a businessman was robbed of Rs 7 lakh at gunpoint, police sources said.
