Bhubaneswar: A house belonging to an alleged notorious criminal was demolished at Sailashree Vihar in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday following his alleged involvement in many cases.
According to sources, the demolition of the illegally constructed house was carried out at the FR Colony in Chandrasekharpur area in a joint operation by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Commissionerate Police.
The action was taken against Debashish Nayak alias Salu over his alleged involvement in several criminal activities. More than 10 cases related to assault and other offences are reportedly registered against him.
The action comes amid police efforts against individuals allegedly involved in multiple criminal activities.
The action came as the Commissionerate Police has intensified the crackdown on criminal elements in the capital city ahead of Durga Puja festival.
