Kolkata: Century Plyboards has introduced a plywood manufactured by a new nanotechnology-based process that claims to kill 99.99 per cent of viruses.
The “Virokill technology” has used “highly activated and energised nanoparticles” that “physically rupture and kill viruses coming in contact with it”, the company said in a statement.
It also claimed that these nanoparticles are effective throughout the lifetime of furniture as they are embedded in the polymer matrix system.
They have roped in actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay for the advertisement of this new line-up.
Earlier, fabric companies such as Siyaram’s and Zodiac had launched clothes that killed viruses. There is also increased marketing of copper-laced products in appliances and touch-points that claim to reduce virus impact.
