Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police on Friday announced change in the emergency phone call number in case of fire incidents.
It said the Odisha Fire Service emergency number 101 has been integrated with Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) number 112. “We urge the people of Odisha to dial 112 in case of fire emergency instead of 101,” the Odisha Police said in a tweet.
Emergency Response Support System is a pan-India single number (112) based emergency response system for people in emergency. Each State and Union Territory is required to designate a dedicated Emergency Response Centre (ERC) to handle emergency requests.
