New Delhi: Ten months into the vaccination process in India and with over 1.15 billion doses administered in the country, the Central government on Saturday added another feature on its CoWIN portal through which one can check his/her vaccination status anytime, anywhere.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced via Twitter that the service has been activated, and citizens can now check vaccination status by entering registered mobile number and name, followed by an OTP.
“Now download the fully/partially vaccinated badge from CoWIN (cowin.gov.in) & share it with your friends on all your social platforms! Encourage your family and friends to follow you and #FightCovid,” National Health Authority CEO RS Sharma said in a tweet.
The feature can be used by service providers like travel agencies, offices, employers, entertainment agencies, or government agencies such as IRCTC, for whom verifying a person’s vaccination status is critical for facilitating a service requested by the citizen.

* Travel agencies can ensure safe travel only for vaccinated individuals.
* Employers can use it to verify vaccination status of employees so that they can resume physical functions in offices, workplaces.
* It will help catalyse and boost economic activities in the country.
