Bhubaneswar: In a bid to attract more visitors, a boat ride facility has been launched at Deras Dam in Chandaka Elephant Sanctuary on the city outskirts.
The Forest department had been planning to set up the facility for a long time and it finally started on Saturday.
According to sources, one boat with a maximum seating capacity of nine visitors was brought for the purpoe.
The visitors can enjoy the boat ride for 30 minutes and Rs 100 will be charged per head.
As per the demand, the number of boats may be increased in future, said the sources.
Notably, Deras Dam is a picnic spot, which is nearly 18 km away from Bhubaneswar.
