Ahmedabad-based Gensol Group, a renewable energy firm, on Wednesday launched its all-electric ‘Blu Smart’ cab service in Delhi-NCR, in association with Mahindra Electric.
The new service combines ride-hailing, car sharing and shared charging services. Users can book zero-polluting electric cabs for intra-city travel using the company’s app. At present, the company has 70 eVeritos and is looking to expand to 500 EVs by April 2020.
The company has a fixed rate of Rs 14-15 per kilometre and has no ‘surge pricing’.
Blu Smart will be bringing out plans to lease electric vehicles such as Hyundai Kona, BMW i3 and Nissan Leaf in the next few months.
The company has set up 15 charging points and is targeting 50 more by August 2019. The charging points are 15-20kW DC fast chargers based on the Bharat DC charging standards. The charging points can be used by everyone for a fee. The company is working on introducing European CCS and Japanese CHAdeMO charger standards next year.
After Delhi-NCR, the company intends to roll out its services in Mumbai.
