New Delhi: Schools, airports, hospitals and jails have been threatened in the national capital of late, all of which turned out to be hoax. On Wednesday, it was the office of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in North Block that was the target of an email bomb threat.
Delhi Police said a bomb disposal squad, along with fire tenders, has been dispatched to the spot.
A call to Delhi Fire Service (DFS) was made after an officer posted at North Block saw the bomb threat email.
“Searches are on and, as of now, nothing suspicious has been found,” a police officer told PTI.
Three weeks ago, a hoax email threat prompted an evacuation of students and staff at over 150 schools in Delhi. The threat mail, purportedly sent from a mail.ru server, claimed that explosives were planted on school premises in Delhi.
Schools in Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur and Ahmedabad have received similar threats.
