Now, Naveen Announces Cash Awards For Bronze-Winning Indian Women’s Hockey Team

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the Asian Games bronze-winning Indian women’s hockey team and announced cash awards of Rs 3 lakh for every player and support staff.

India defeated Japan 2-1 at Hangzhou on Saturday to finish third in the continental event.

“This is indeed a proud moment for our country as we witness yet another triumphant chapter in Indian hockey. The credit for this success goes to the entire team whose dedication and hard work have shone brightly. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every member of the team and all the stakeholders involved. Your teamwork and determination have brought us this victory, and I have no doubt that many more such triumphs await Indian hockey,” Naveen said.

A day earlier, the Odisha CM rewarded the gold medal-winning men’s hockey team with cash awards of Rs 5 lakh each.

Naveen also announced a cash award of Rs 1.5 crore for Odisha star Amit Rohidas for his stellar role in the Asian Games.
