Nayagarh: Close on the heels of Baliapal BDO’s reported misbehaviour towards labourers, another block development officer faces the allegation of misconduct. This time, the BDO concerned went a step ahead and beat up a youth.
According to sources, Jitendra Pradhan of Mahipur village in Nayagarh district had provided a vehicle on rent to Nuagaon BDO office. But the dues for the rental service had not been paid to him for one year.
When Jitendra enquired about his dues from Nayagarh BDO yesterday, the latter did not give any satisfactory answer. Feeling let down by the BDO’s behaviour, he wanted to know the status of the bills and insisted on payment of his dues.
Irked by Jitendra’s repeated queries, the BDO got agitated and scolded him in bad language. The officer also beat him up with a stick and kicked him from his office.
Jitendra has approached the IIC of Nuagaon police station demanding probe into the matter.
