New Delhi: SpiceJet and GoAir have joined Air India and IndiGo in banning stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra for allegedly portraying “unacceptable behaviour” while onboard a Mumbai-Lucknow flight.
“SpiceJet has decided to suspend Mr Kunal Kamra from flying with the airline till further notice,” said a tweet on its official handle.
Similarly, GoAir tweeted: “GoAir has suspended Mr Kunal Kamra from flying with the airline till further notice @MoCA_GoI @DGCAIndia @HardeepSPuri @IndiGo6E.”
Stating that Vistara has a zero-tolerance policy against any behaviour or act that compromises the safety, security and dignity of its customers and staff, a spokesperson said that they will review and follow due process in such cases.
Earlier, IndiGo had suspended Kamra from flying with the airlines for a period of six months.
Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri said offensive behaviour meant to provoke and create disturbance inside an aircraft is “absolutely unacceptable”. He also advised other airlines to impose a similar ban on the comedian.
Soon, Air India issued a ban on the artist as well.
On Tuesday, Kamra heckled TV presenter Arnab Goswami, criticised his journalism and several other aspects including his stand on various topics, and even called him a coward while travelling on a Mumbai-Lucknow IndiGo flight.
