New Delhi: Indians living abroad can now order food for family members and friends through Swiggy.
In the latest feature introduced by the Indian online food ordering and delivery company, Swiggy has enabled International Logins, which will allow users from 27 countries to order food and articles from its quick commerce offering Instamart, as well as book restaurant tables for anyone in India.
The countries covered by International Logins so far include the US, the UK, Germany, Australia, Canada and the UAE.
Users in the 27 countries can log in using their respective international numbers and make payments using international credit cards or available UPI options to access all its features, including food delivery, Dineout, Genie and Instamart, Swiggy announced in a press release on Friday.
The timing of Swiggy’s new initiative is significant as we are in the midst of festive season.
“Food and gifts are essential to family gatherings, especially during festivals. With International Login, those living abroad can now surprise their loved ones on special occasions,” said Swiggy co-founder and CGO Phani Kishan.
According to Swiggy, NRIs had been requesting for this feature for some time now.
Founded in 2014, Bengaluru-based Swiggy at present collaborates with around 2 lakh restaurants across 600 cities in India. Instamart, which delivers groceries and other essential items in around 10 minutes, operates in 43 cities.
