Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a new mobile app in which users can download their details without having to carry the physical card.
The app will have users’ Aadhar number and data such as name, date of birth, gender, address and photograph.
The app is available on Google Play Store and iOS store. UIDAI had tweeted to uninstall previously installed versions of the Aadhar app, and download the new one instead.
One of the main advantages is that users will not have to carry their original Aadhar card wherever they go. Also, this app has time-based OTP or TOTP, which can be used in case the OTP takes time to reach. Aadhaar details can be sent from the app for verification purposes using QR code in the app.
