New Delhi: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has introduced a vegan logo for food products in the country.
The design is such that it resonates with the current logo (that has a dot in the middle of a square) for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food products.
“Earlier, we had logos for veg (green dot) & non-veg foods (brown dot). We have a growing movement towards veganism. So we have come out with the vegan logo,” FSSAI CEO Arun Singhal said.
The new logo is designed by Kruti Manish Rathore, who is pursuing her Masters in Food Science and Nutrition at Mount Caramel College in Bangalore.
