Bhubaneswar: With three phases of lockdown for VOVID-19 almost derailing the economy, the State Government on Tuesday laid thrust on ensuring livelihood besides saving the lives of people.
In a video release, Additional Chief Secretary and SRC Pradip Jena said agriculture and industrial activities can resume in full steam in green and orange zones. Stating that the labourers can make free movement between the two zones, he appealed to the villagers to remove the barricades.
As per the standard official procedure announced by the Government on April 25, district collectors can be approached by the companies and contractors to arrange vehicles for mobilisation of the workers.
The companies and contractors can also engages skilled labourers from outside State in industrial and construction activities with permission from Collectors and Tehsildars, the SRC said.
With harvest of rabi crop going on, Jena said the Chief Minister has directed for seamless travel of the labourers and agriculture produce to the mandis. Besides, the rural workers including those who have come from outside State can be engaged in labour intensive works like NREGS.
For the benefit of the farmers facing any kind of harassment due to lockdown, the Government has opened toll-free number 18001025166, he said.
The SRC also assured of adequate stock of seeds, fertilizer and pesticides for kharif crop.
