Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange warning with forecast of intense spells of rainfall in Odisha’s 19 districts in next 3 hours.
In its nowcast warning released at 6.30 pm on Sunday, the IMD said light to moderate rain/thundershower is likely with one or two intense/heavy spells in some parts of Angul, Boudh, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Ganajm, Gajapati, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh districts within 3 hours.
The MeT office has warned about waterlogging in low-lying areas, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban areas.
It has advised people have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and avoid movement in affected areas. They should also make arrangement for drainage of excess water, it added.
Issuing yellow warning for the rest of districts, the Met office said light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning is very likely in those areas in next 3 hours.
