Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Friday issued thunderstorm and lightning warning along with rain for 14 districts of Odisha, including the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, in the next three hours (till 6 pm).
The Centre, in a Nowcast message issued Orange warning for the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Cuttack (Including Cuttack city), Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Rayagada, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Bargarh are likely to experience gusty wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph along with moderate lightning and rain.
The districts of Angul, Keonjhar, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Puri, Boudh, Deogarh, Balasore, Deogarh and Sambalpur will also witness light to moderate thunderstorm with gusty wind speed reaching 30- 40 kmph along with lightning, stated the Met office till 6 pm today.
Under its impact minor damage to loose /unsecured structures and standing crops has been predicted.
Meanwhile, Yellow warning has been issued for 18 districts of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapada for the next 24 hours.
