Bhubaneswar: The 6th edition of two-day all India Classical Dance Festival and Guru Naman Dance & Music Festival 2022- 2023 took off in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The glittering show witnessed eminent dancers mesmerizing the audience with their dance moves. The dance festival showcased performances by the eminent artists such as, Dr Subhashree Pattnaik (Odissi Dance Exponent), Geeta Govinda Odissi Dance Institute, Nrutyayan, Odissi Group Dance, Tridhara, Odissi Group Dance, Samprada,
Odissi Group Dance.
In the inaugural show, Subhashree Pattnaik’s Kunti performance from Mahabharat kept the audience spellbound. The dance was directed by Guru Durga Charan Ranbir while Guru Sukant Kumar Kundu gave music direction with Guru Dhaneswar Swain on Mardala.
It was followed by Gita Govinda Odissi dance directed by Kumkum Mohanty. Then Mahalaxmi Anukam Tridhara presented a dance performance on the direction of Gajendra Panda.
Julana Kunj was performed by the dancers of Samprada. It was directed by Guru Suhaga Nalini Das with music direction from Ramahari Das.
Prominent guests in the evening included eminent sculpture Sudarshan Sahoo, Odissi dance exponents Durga Charan Ranbir, Sangita Gosain and Gajendra Panda besides Dipti Mishra, Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Bhubaneswar. Kumkum Mohanty was awarded prestigious Nrutyadham award on the occasion.
