Puri: A four-member team of National Security Guard (NSG), an elite counter-terror force, will visit Jagannath Temple here on August 28 and 29 to review the security system.
According to a letter written by NSG Major Asutosh Nayak intimating the same to Puri Collector and Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the team will inspect the security arrangements on the temple premises. The review is a part of strategy for contingency planning.
The NSG usually conducts the reconnaissance after ‘sensitive’ places are identified in consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs, State Police and intelligence authorities.
Last year too, a team of NSG officials had visited Puri and inspected security arrangements in and around the temple premises.
