Kendrapada: Tension gripped Kendrapada town on Thursday when members of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) waved black flags at local BJD MLA Kishore Tarai. Three NSUI activists were detained in connection with the incident.
According to reports, the incident took place when the MLA was on his way to attend a prize distribution ceremony at Kendrapada College. Following this, a scuffle broke out between protestors and workers of Biju Chhatra Janata Dal.
The NSUI members were protesting against Tarai being invited to the function of the college since the students’ union poll schedule had been announced, sources said.
