Bhubaneswar: “Nuakhai celebrates our culture. This festival inspires us to work together and respect elders. If we will follow the message of Nuakhai, we can build an ideal society and developed state,” said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Nuakhai Bhetghat function held at Government High School at Unit-9 here on Sunday.
The Chief Minister also said Sambalpuri folk dance, song and saree are now famous worldwide.
The function was organised by the Paschim Odisha Agrani Sangathan (POAS).
POAS president Kishore Mohanty presided over the meeting and spoke about the culture of western Odisha and the history of Nuakhai festival.
A felicitation and book release function were held on the occasion.
