Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Nuapada district has been ranked the fifth most improved district in the country by Niti Aayog.
In its delta ranking for June 2019 under the aspirational district programme, Niti Aayog has placed Nuapada among the highest-scoring districts for ensuring inclusive and sustainable infrastructure amenities for all. The announcement was made on its official Twitter handle on Saturday.
The other four districts in ranking orders are Bhadradri-Telangana, Visakhapatnam-Andhra Pradesh, Lohardaga-Jharkhand, Baksa-Assam and Nuapada-Odisha.
The Odisha Government reacted to a Tweet by the Chief Minister’s office, which said, the government’s thrust on building inclusive and sustainable infrastructure in the state has led to Nuapada district earning the Niti Aayog’s commendation as one of the top-performing aspirational districts in providing basic infrastructure.
The aspirational district programme was launched in January 2018 for improving the socio-economic status of 112 identified districts in the country.
