Bhubaneswar: Another young girl was found hanging in a hostel room in Odisha capital on Sunday.
As per reports, the girl, studying in a nursing college at Jamukoli under Airfield police station, was staying in a hostel in the campus. As the door of her room remained closed for a long time, her hostel-mates informed the authorities. On breaking open the door, the girl was found hanging from the ceiling.
On being informed, a team from Airfield police station went to the college hostel and retrieved the body. They questioned the hostel boarders and sent the body for post-mortem.
The police have registered an unnatural death case and further investigation is on. The identity of the deceased student and the reason of alleged suicide have not been confirmed. But sources said she belonged to Balangir district.
It may be mentioned that an 18-year-old girl was found hanging at Badagada on August 26. Two other women also resorted to the extreme step on the same day.
