Kendrapara: The half-burnt body of a girl was recovered from an under-construction house at Kankadia village in Kendrapara district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Rukmani (19). She was pursuing nursing course at an institute in Bhubaneswar.
According to available information, Rukmini had gone to her house at Kankadia village on Thursday. Her behaviour was normal and she had dinner with her mother last night. However, some locals saw smoke emanating from the under-construction house and noticed the girl’s body in a half-burnt state inside it.
Police reached the spot after being informed about the incident and recovered a kerosene jar near the body.
Family members of the deceased alleged that she has been set on fire by someone.
