Kolkata: Troubles are mounting for corruption-hit Trinamool Congress.
Crores of rupees were found in the flats of arrested senior minister Partha Chatterjee while another senior leader Anubrata Mondal is under CBI custody in the cattle-smuggling case. And now, an MLA has alleged that actress-turned-politicians like Mimi Chakraborty, Nusrat Jahan, June Malia, Saayoni Ghosh and Sayantika Banerjee are “looting” money.
A video has gone viral where Salboni legislator Srikanta Mahata lashes out against several TMC leaders.
“We tried to make Abhishek Banerjee, Subrata Bakshi understand. But they did not want to understand. They are identifying bad people as good fellows. How can we survive then? They should say bad people are bad people. Starting from Mahadev to Sandhya Roy, June Malia, Saayoni, Sayantika, Mimi, Nusrat. If they become assets for the party, then we cannot be a part of this party anymore,” said Mahata, who was a minister of state in Mamata’s cabinet till recently.
“If these leaders become assets for the party by looting money, we don’t want to remain a minister. People are saying all ministers of this cabinet are thieves. Party will listen to those thieves only. We have to look out for new ways. We have to build a movement against it,” he asserted.
Nusrat and Mimi are Lok Sabha MPs, June is an MLA, while Saayoni and Sayantika are members of the Mamata Banerjee-helmed party.
