‘O Pushpa, I Hate Tears’ Actors All Praise For Producer Amulya Das, Odisha’s Natural Beauty

Bhubaneswar: It took him 11 years to produce his first Hindi film, ‘O Pushpa, I Hate Tears’. And the comedy-thriller is finally ready for release on February 28.

Director-turned-producer from Odisha, Amulya Das picked the title from the iconic dialogue of Rajesh Khanna in ‘Amar Prem’ as a tribute to the first superstar of Bollywood.

Stand-up comedian Krishna Abhishek, Arjumman Mughal, and Karthik Jayaram are playing the lead roles in the film.

Arjumman Mughal, who is essaying the part of Pushpa, has posted a video praising the Odisha-born producer. “Iss film ko unhone bahut mehenat aur masakat se banaya hai (he has put in a lot of effort and made this film with all his heart),” she said.

The actress from Kashmir also requested people of Odisha to watch the upcoming film in theatres.

Speaking to media, Karthik Jayaram said that Amulya is very passionate about filmmaking. “He keenly monitored every aspect of the movie,” he said.

The duo had shot a song, ‘Honto Mein Naam Tera’ for the movie on the sea beach at Gopalpur here and were all praise for the natural beauty of Odisha.

During the mahurat of the film directed by Dinkar Kapoor in Mumbai in April 2018, Amulya had told Odisha Bytes that he was planning to shoot one of five songs in Odisha.

This FTII-Pune pass-out had earlier assisted directors, including K Viswanath in Madhuri Dixit and Jacky Shroff-starrer ‘Sangeet’.

His Odia film ‘Samaya Hatare Dori’ and mega serial ‘Prayaschit’ telecast on ETV Odia had won good reviews.
