Bhubaneswar: Three months after entering nuptial alliance through a matrimonial site, an Odisha Administrative Officer (OAS) has lodged a police complaint, accusing her husband of faking identity to marry her.
The 2020-batch OAS officer who is currently working as a probation officer in Jeypore, Ritu Singh tied the knot with Harihara Rath of Lingaraj Nagar in February this year. She claimed that her husband had introduced himself as deputy manager (finance) at Nalco, Delhi. He, however, could not produce any proof regarding his job during subsequent enquiries and left for Delhi last month.
Ritu then tried to contact him several times through his family members but in vain. It was then that the woman officer realised that she had been cheated and filed an FIR at Jeypore police station on Saturday. She also alleged that Harihara was having an affair with another woman in Delhi.
A case been registered under Sections 417, 419, 294, 489A, 34 of the IPC and investigation is underway, sources said.
