Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids, at seven locations linked to OAS officer Prasanna Samantaray on allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The officer is currently serving as Tehsildar of Kantapara in Cuttack district.
A multi-member team, comprising two Additional SPs, eight DSP,
11 inspectors, five ASIs and supporting staff, are carrying out raids under search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Court in Cuttack.
The searches of properties are underway in multiple districts, including Cuttack, Khurda (Bhubaneswar), Puri, and Kendrapara. These include, two triple-storey residential buildings at Mauza-Kesara, Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
His paternal house at Duchhia in Puri district, house of a relative at Laxmisagar in Bhubaneswar, his official chamber at the Tehsildar office and govt quarters in Kantapada and a residential house of another relative at Badapaldia in Kendrapada district are also under scanner.
The searches are ongoing, and further details, including any recoveries or developments, are expected as the investigation progresses.
