Baripada: Protesting the alleged misbehaviour of Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs Bishweswar Tudu with their colleagues at a meeting, the members of the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) Association of Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday joined their duty wearing black badges.
Talking to the media, president of the Association and additional collector Rudra Narayan Mohanty said the Union Minister in a meeting at the office of the district collector on October 9 had abused him, the district collector and the Project Director, ITDA and the tehsildar. The district Association has decided to apprise the State OAS Officers’ Association of the incident, he added.
“We strongly condemn the language used by the Union Minister for which we have passed a resolution. We have requested the officials of all districts in the state to support us and condemn the incident. We demand necessary action against the Union Minister failing which we will resort to an indefinite agitation,” Mohanty said.
It may be mentioned that the Union Minister had reportedly misbehaved with the Champua sub-collector a few days back and locked up the Project Director, ITDA of Rairangpur. Besides, he had also misbehaved with the officials in a review meeting in Kuchinda last week.
The Union Minister during his recent visit to the Kanpur irrigation project in Champua sub-division in Keonjhar district had reportedly scolded the government officials.
