Objection Fee For JEE Main Slashed From Rs 1000 To Rs 200; But It’s Non-Refundable

New Delhi: The objection-raising fee of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 exam has been slashed from Rs 1000 to Rs 200. But the reduced fee is non-refundable, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced. So unlike earlier, candidates whose objections are accepted will not get their money back.

The indianexpress.com had reported last year that NTA had collected Rs 77,55,000 from JEE Main objection-raising fee in 2019. An RTI filed by them revealed that NTA’s collection from objection fee for 2019 JEE Main and NEET was over Rs 1.38 crore.

“The move to reduce the fee is based on suggestions that we got last time. The same principle will be followed,” an NTA official was quoted as saying.

The answer key of JEE Main, which was conducted across India from September 1 to 6, has been released and candidates can raise objections till 10 am on September 10.

The fee-payment window will be open till 5 pm on September 10.

The result for JEE Main 2020 is expected to be published by September 11. Application process for JEE Advanced will begin from September 12.

For foreign candidates, however, JEE Advanced application process is already open at jeeadv.ac.in.
