Bhubaneswar: An assistant professor of the College of Basic Science and Humanities in Bhubaneswar has been placed under suspension for allegedly sending obscene messages to a girl student of the educational institution on October 31.
The accused has been identified as an assistant professor of the Department of Zoology ,Biswa Ranjan Paital. He was suspended by Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT) vice-chancellor Pawan Kumar Agarwal on the basis of the report of a committee formed by Director Suryakant Mishra to probe the incident.
The panel, which also questioned the assistant professor and the girl student, found evidence against him, sources said.
