Bhubaneswar: Obtaining fire safety certificates and recommendations will no longer be a hassle for applicants as the Odisha government on Tuesday decentralised  the whole process. Field-level officials will now issue these certificates expeditiously after following procedural formalities. This means that people will not have to travel all the way to the Directorate of Fire Services from far off areas to get their certificates.

They will be issued within 18 days of the receipt of the application. This move of the government will bring about a radical improvement in the whole process. It will also be covered under ‘Mo Sarkar’ from January 1, 2020, to take random citizen feedback on service delivery.

Apart from this, the state government has decided to further simplify the procedure by making it online from April 1, 2020 as part of the 5 Ts charter of governance, said an official release.
